Dr. Ashley Ray now providing specialized breast care at UCBC’s North Chase Street location
University Cancer & Blood Center (UCBC), a leading oncology and hematology practice for Northeast Georgia, welcomes Dr. Ashley Ray, an acclaimed fellowship-trained breast surgeon. Patients in need of breast cancer treatment can choose UCBC with confidence.
Dr. Ray is now seeing patients at UCBC’s North Chase Street location (658 N. Chase St., Suite 201, Athens).
Her breast cancer-related services include examinations, biopsies, surgeries, breast conservation therapy, and treatment for benign conditions.
“Dr. Ray’s commitment to the evaluation and care of patients is exemplary, which aligns with our overall mission,” says Dr. Petros Nikolinakos, managing partner. “And her presence at UCBC provides patients in the area access to a fellowship-trained breast surgeon.”
After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., Dr. Ray completed her residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. While in residency, she received an array of honors and recognitions, including being appointed chief resident.
She completed her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas. As part of the UCBC team, Dr. Ray is the first female, fellowship-trained breast surgeon to practice in Athens.
“I’m honored to join UCBC and practice at such a state-of-the-art cancer center,” says Dr. Ray. “UCBC is very patient focused and patient driven, which is the most important thing, especially in the field of oncology. And I feel like that will provide the best outcomes for our patients in the long run.”
