Top care in our community
Here’s what I want to say about my experience: ‘Job well done, Dr. Schoenfeld.’
University Cancer & Blood Center has treated three members of my family: My mother, my brother and me. For all of us, it was the best experience possible.

World-class technology
When my lung cancer moved to the brain, I felt more than a little bit lost. My husband and I have lived in Commerce all our lives, but we didn’t know an oncologist. We were referred to Dr. Schoenfeld, who put together my radiation treatment plan. Back in 2000, my mother-in-law faced a similar brain condition, but the technology at that time wasn’t what it is today. The technology used in my treatment is world-class, and I was able to get the very latest treatment right near my home.
I know some people don’t like to mention God, but I do believe God guided us to Dr. Schoenfeld, who gave us hope along with the high-tech treatment. Cancer is never a “good” experience, but it’s a comfort to be so thoughtfully cared for by the wonderful people at Athens Brain Center.

The best care around
Hands down the BEST place to be when you’re going through such a terrible time in life. Every single person we have had any contact with here has been absolutely amazing! I’m so very thankful for every single sweet soul in this place.

Treatment you can trust
My year was off to a rocky start. Recently diagnosed with breast cancer, a round of X-rays now showed a spot on my brain. It all happened so quickly — it was something I was going through, but it affected my entire family.
I was under the care of University Cancer & Blood Center’s Dr. James Splichal for breast cancer. He referred me to Dr. Gordon Schoenfeld of Athens Brain Center, a division of UCBC, because I was as a candidate for treatment with the cutting-edge technology offered there.

Empathy and respect
They have become an extension of my family, each and every one. I am alive because of their care, concern, and brilliance at what they do. Thank you Dr. Nic, Jamie, Nikki and the entire UCBC Team – you know who you are.
