Kris Schultz-Tanner, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Clinical Genomics Nurse, joined the UCBC team in 2020 to bring the field of cancer genetics to the Live Well family. She completed her Master of Nursing in 2016 at Simmons College in Boston and earned her FNP with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her double major of nursing and psychology was awarded in 1999 from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. She previously worked as an RN with UCBC for 13 years in both the medical and radiation oncology practices starting back in 2003, and most recently led the Hereditary Cancer Program at Piedmont Athens Regional. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and Chair of the Athens Area Oncology Leadership Council. Learn more about the Cancer Genetics services at UCBC.
