Melissa Dowd, certified Family Nurse Practitioner, joined UCBC in 2014. She is the Director of UCBC’s Live Well Program, focusing on Palliative and Survivorship care for our patients. Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree from The Medical College of Georgia and Master’s Degree from Frontier University. She was a hospice nurse prior to returning to graduate school and later opened an independent holistic practice combining neurofeedback and energetic bodywork. Melissa remains interested in Holistic and Integrative Medicine and is a certified Herbalist and Reiki Master. Prior to joining UCBC, she worked with Advantage Behavioral Health Systems gaining experience in addiction disease, acute and chronic mental health management as well as mental health crisis management. Melissa is Board Certified in Palliative Medicine.
